We've been quietly following City Church Care Mount Riverview (previously known as Mountains Care) on social media for a few years now, always impressed by the steady, practical way they show up for people in our community. So it's a real privilege to say our latest quarterly donation from Walker Real Estate Group — $1,000 — is going to them.
City Church Care is the community arm of City Church Australia, based in Mount Riverview in the Lower Blue Mountains and led by Jamie Happell, alongside Amy and Ben Sattler who lead the church. What they do is simple but it matters enormously: every month they run a hamper pickup that's open to anyone who needs a hand. Their mission is to support local people with respect and love, so they're living with a bit more hope and a little less struggle day to day.
Right now they're working towards something big, 1,000 hampers for the community this Christmas, and they've already started collecting. That's a huge undertaking for a local church-run program, and it's the kind of goal that only gets met when a community pitches in together.
This is our second quarterly community donation as Walker Real Estate Group, and picking City Church Care felt like an easy decision. We've admired their work from a distance for years, and we wanted to back it properly. If you're able to help them reach their Christmas goal, here's how:
